The best movie ever is about to come out...

From the instant I heard the opening sound on this trailer, I was hooked.  See below for a youtube version but I would of course recommend seeing it in HD on Apple's trailer site.

Good things come to those who... ... ... wait.

I've had several tracks on repeat in the past few days.  The Shinichi Osawa remix of Bunny Lake's "Strobe Love" shreds on a whole different level.  I grabbed it at the-always-fine palmsout sounds' Remix Sunday sometime last month.  Also red hot is the new MSTRKRFT remix of Chromeo's "Tenderoni" on the bottom of headphone sex's latest post.  Check it.

Isn't it ironic?

I cannot express the sadness I feel after being denied to Chromeo and Flosstradamus... I spent my whole day pumpin myself up to their Scion demo mix.  Sold out wtf?  I AM SOMEBODY!!

Markus Schulz in Seattle

I can't believe I almost forgot to tell you guys about seeing Markus Schulz at the Last Supper Club last Saturday.  Trance doesn't really appeal to me as much as other genres but I'd never been to see a set live before.  I was able to watch for the first hour and there were a couple of decent moments.  The track that stood out the most, by far, was Sander Van Doorn's remix of Wamdue's King Of My Castle.  I first heard this on one of Armin Van Buuren's State of Trance broadcasts and it's been one of my favorite trance tracks for the recent past.

Seattle's weather was unbelievable today so I decided to spend almost all of it outside by riding my bike around Vashon Island and BBQing at Golden Gardens beach.... I don't have any new tracks to post, per se, but I have a track coming off of an excellent DJ mix by The Bang Gang Deejays (pictured above).  It's called light "Light Sound Dance" and it features a pretty dense tracklist.  The production on this grime/indie hip hop joint is excellent but Plan B will blow you away with his incredible flow.

The mix this track's from isn't out until July 31 but a few copies have been popping up on eBay.  There's also a wierd movie preview for the mix to check out:

...before I go out

Damn it... When I started this blog I thought I would write at least one post a day - hopefully the extra stuff in this post will make up for it.

Lifelike is coming out with a new single on July 9 called "So Electric".  It's the timing of the release reminds you of another Lifelike (and Kris Menace) work that happened to be the Summer 2006 Ibiza mega-anthem called Discopolis, don't be suprised.  If you enjoyed Discopolis, you'll enjoy this - thought maybe not quite as much.  I'm wondering if it has the sway to become another summer hit...  What do you guys think?

My newest Fabric cd finally arrived in the mail today.  I became interested when I saw it on Phillip Sherburne's blog as "mix of the year" so far.  I didn't feel like the entire mix lived up to the praise but the first song certainly started things in the right direction.

I would also recommend checking out the latest post on headphone sex.  In particular, download the Pilooski edit.  It's choice mosdef.

Rockin' it

When I heard this remix the first few times it sounded like it was a little bit restrained... even despite all of the compression.  But of course, I was hooked.  It's a 3 and a half minute masterpiece.  It's loud and it fucking kicks ass.

The Bloody Beetroots is/are a (group of) DJ(s) from Italy.  I'm too lazy to look up any more info on them... I'd rather rock out to this shit on repeat.
